GOD IS DISAPPOINTED IN YOU Review Christian G. Mill September 17, 2013 Books, Featured I think that the Bible is one of the most iconic books throughout history, for both religious and non-religious people. The bad thing about the Bible is that, with absolutely zero offense meant here, it’s full of arcane language and hard to understand passages. I’ve always wanted to read the Bible, looking at it from a piece of literature standpoint, but its difficult to comprehend nature always kind of turned me off about it. That’s where God Is Disappointed In You comes in. The title, written by Mark Russell and Shannon Wheeler, is basically a condensed version of the message of the Bible. It’s been stripped of the obscure language and endless passages and presented in a modern way, with each book of the Bible clocking in at only a few pages each. However, the writers convert the Bible with sprinklings of mature humor. I will tell you right now, if you consider yourself a religious Christian in any way shape or form, you probably won’t like this book. In fact, there will probably be several instances where you think the humor employed a bit blasphemous. In short, this book really isn’t meant for you. That being said, I think this book is definitely a good read for anyone else, particularly if you don’t necessarily consider yourself a religious person or if you’ve always wanted to read the Bible but have been put off by the way it’s written. To put it bluntly, this book is perfect for anyone that wants to see through endless religious debates or agendas and know exactly what the Bible is about. Faithful and clearly well researched, God Is Disappointed In You is a must have for any lover of literature’s library.
